iPhone 3G Now Available In The Philippines

by Juan on August 22nd, 2008

Globe finally launched the iPhone 3G on August 22. They welcomed the iPhone 3G with a launch party starting August 21 at around 10 p.m. and counted down till midnight.

I wasn’t able to attend but some of my friends and group mates were able to attend. A group of people from PhilMUG met up before the launch and proceeded as a group.

From what I hear it was an ok party. There were some mix-ups. Things that could have been done better. You could have gotten an iPhone at that event. There were people who lined up for an iPhone while some weren’t so lucky and went home empty handed.

Big name celebrities were also in attendance during the event. Even one of the big bosses of Ayala Corporation, Fernando Zobel de Ayala was present.

I’m glad that the iPhone is finally available here. However I still feel it’s priced too high and only time will tell if it will be a success.

Check out a short video of the event taken by a fellow PhilMugger.

Thanks to Joy Yu a.k.a wrkshy for the video.

Here’s a photo from a friend. Check out his album here.

Thanks to Rolen Facundo for the pic.
