Picturesque: Beautiful Image Editing For The Web

Picturesque is a simple to use application that allows you to beautify your images before posting to your web site or blog. More and more people are creating and publishing blogs. Part of a good blog are images. Now, some of us have access to software like Photoshop but most don’t. For the people that do, sometimes Photoshop is a bit of overkill. Hey, I know. I’m a Photoshop user. When you’re posting a blog entry at 2 a.m. and you simply want to add an image to your post and making it somewhat spiffy, firing up Photoshop seems to be a tedious task.

I’m ashamed to say that sometimes I just don’t publish images with my blog post simply because I’m too tired to fire up Photoshop and edit images.

Acqualia, the makers of Picturesque has made simple image editing for the web easy. Just drag your image into Picturesque, check some boxes, slide some sliders and you have a great image that looks professionally edited. Picturesque allows you to add a reflection, glow, shadow, rounded corners and other effects to your image. Then after editing just save it and post it on your blog or web site. Simple as that.

It will never be a Photoshop killer. Not in a million years but for quick image editing for your blogs, it’s kinda cool. I’m just not sure the price is right though. At $20 it’s still quite a decision for me. It’s not something that I’d buy in a snap of a finger.

I’m attaching a sample image I edited. Since I’m only using a trial version, the watermark is there.
