MacBook, MacBook Pro To See Design Change Soon?
[via AppleInsider]
According to report by AppleInsider, Apple is set to revamp the design of both the MacBook and MacBook Pro line of portables. Well it’s about damn time! Especially for the MacBook Pro who hasn’t really seen a design change since its launch. That being said the MacBook Pro uses a lot of design cues from the Powerbook line of portables. In fact it’s really a Powerbook with different guts. Almost.
I love the MacBook Pro design, I really do. I think it’s still great and it’s destined to be a classic. However in the interest of progress, I want to see a new design. Hopefully Ives and co. will pull off a design that will wow me the same way the Aluminum PowerBook did when it got launched.
Quoting the AppleInsider article
Of the two, the 13-inch consumer MacBooks will undergo the most significant metamorphosis, shedding their plastic enclosures for ones constructed from more eco-friendly materials such as aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel, people familiar with the matter say.
If the MacBook does get a design change and it sheds off the plastic enclosure then the Macbook will look really tempting to me. Honestly one of my biggest gripes about the MacBook is the plastic casing. Once you’ve felt the aluminum finish of the PowerBook/MacBook Pro it’s hard to use a plastic computer without feeling that it’s a bit inferior. No offense to MacBook users.. It’s just a matter of personal preference.
Well, let’s see in the next 60 days if this will come true. Check out the AppleInsider article here.

I have yet to feel the aluminum casing of the MacBook Pro. Hopefully I get to play with one. I’m also looking forward to the design change of the MB and MBP line.

If there’s an apple store near where you live i suggest you go and visit one. Try out the MacBook Pro, I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean when I said that once you try the aluminum finish it’s hard to go back to the plastic one.
